Background
Dr. Angelica Damore has been practicing in the field of Social Work for nearly twenty-five years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work from the California State University of Long Beach. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Dr. Damore pursued her life-long dream of earning her doctorate degree from USC.
Dr. Damore enjoys working with adults – veterans, families, and older adults. She has worked with diverse populations in health care, outpatient and inpatient settings in Southern and Central California. Dr. Damore found herself working with veterans, working closely with the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) as she led the way for the opening of a Spinal Cord Injury program. Dr. Damore’s diverse background includes working with terminally ill patients managing the mental, emotional, and social challenges with end of life care. She continues to work with families, veterans, and worker’s compensation patients in the private sector focusing on complex illnesses and injuries including Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Dr. Damore’s focus has been to educate patients while guiding their treatments with various therapeutic approaches, and helping patients overcome the stigma for seeking treatments.
During her free time, Dr. Damore loves spending time with her family, including her feathered family of umbrella cockatoos. She also enjoys nature walks, meditating, and listening to endless ocean waves at various beaches.
